delve into this realm of delusive understanding, 
this realm of absolute paradox 
the fabled beings (feared for an ability we would kill for)
live in envy of a demeaned species like ours
for our possession of the one thing they would die for.

the immortals envy man by reason of his mortality.

they envy us for the one thing that makes every moment worth living
the idea that drives you further 
the knowledge that curses your extremes
they envy us for the one statement that runs through our minds, whilst evading their wildest imaginations

"this moment . . . it just might be my last" 

they envy us because we have the ability to build memories, recall moments
and harness the energy from these moments when need be
they envy us because we are unique in our lifetimes
they envy us because we have life
they envy us because we . . .LIVE, and will someday DIE

they envy us for our lack of understanding
that demigods like ourselves need to die to be of relevance
